How to schedule your free local pickup
1. Tell us about your vehicle and location

2. Choose a pickup day that fits your schedule
We’ll offer available pickup windows based on your address and local towing routes. In central Harrisburg and nearby suburbs, pickups are often quicker; rural spots outside the main Harrisburg Metro may need a little extra scheduling time to coordinate the driver.
3. Prepare your title and access to the vehicle
Before the driver arrives, locate your Pennsylvania title and remove personal items from the vehicle. If it’s in a parking garage, behind a gate, or on a permit‑only street, confirm how the tow truck can get in and where it can safely load.
4. Meet the driver or arrange a key handoff
Someone usually needs to be present to hand over keys and sign the title, but in some cases we can arrange a secure key drop. The local tow operator will handle all loading and towing; you won’t need to move or push the car yourself.
5. Sign the paperwork and say goodbye to the car
At pickup, you’ll sign the title as the seller/donor and confirm the vehicle’s release. The driver will give you a pickup receipt, and Capital Rides Initiative will follow up by mail with a tax-deduction acknowledgment once the vehicle is processed.
6. Receive your tax receipt and know you helped locally
